Sorry to spoil the fun: a black screen just saves a little bit engery with old fashioned CRT-Displays. Modern LCD-TFT Technology works different. The Backlight is always on, to display “black” the screen blocks the light but doesnt save any power. The so promised engery savings up to 750 Megawatt a year are in no way correct.
